Old Town, Poole
Poole is a pretty town situated on the edge of Poole Harbour - the second largest natural harbour in the World. The Quay (just 100m from Sea Escape) is home to local fishermen and yachtsmen alike and the Port provides cross Channel ferries to France and the Channel Islands. Local industry includes Poole Pottery and Sunseekers Luxury Motor Yachts.
The Quay plays host to many Events during the summer period. These include a French Market, motorbike nights, fun evenings with Fireworks, (including Nov 5th) classic car exhibitions and a host of cafes, restaurants and bars.
Boat trips can be taken to tour the beautiful Poole Harbour or to visit Old Harry Rocks, Swanage, Wareham or Brownsea Island owned by the National Trust and home to a colony of red squirrels -the BBC filmed "Autumn Watch" from Brownsea Island in 2008.
Local beaches have again this year been awarded the Blue Flag - a testomony to their cleanliness and fantastic facilities, ideal for children and adults alike.
It really is a superb setting for a truly relaxing holiday.
